Improving Korean Pronunciation with Music Videos

August 23, 2011

Haha! Yes! Actually, I found this effective, along with Korean tongue twisters hehe

Here is what you do:

  1. Find a Korean music video, songs that fast in words are preferable.
  2. Find lyrics to the song
  3. Sing along!
Learning a new language requires you to move your mouth in ways it never moved before! By singing with Korean songs, not only will you be able to speed up your oral Korean, but reading as well.
Here’s a quick one you can try! Wait for the part of the song to come on, and sing along 😀

가자 가자 어서 가자 막혔을 땐 돌아가자 골치 아파 죽겠다면 오늘 하루만 놀고 보자
gaja gaja oso gaja makhyosseul tten doragaja golchi apa jukgetdamyon oneul haruman nolgo boja
안 그래도 거친 세상 죽어라 뛰면 나만 지쳐 기다려봐 아껴둬 봐 너의 날이 곧 올 테니까
an geuredo gochin sesang jugora ttwimyon naman jichyo gidaryobwa akkyodwo bwa noye nari got ol tenikka

lyrics from here

As you can see, this can be quite challenging at first, but once you get it, it’ll be a pice of cake 😀

haha!! this is a pretty effective method 😀 I remember I was addicted to SHINee’s Lucifer for a period of time and sing random snatches and random times – totally annoyed my friends xD
