Korean SAT

December 22, 2011

Wow! This is my first post on this blog in a long time!

In this blog post, I’ll be talking about the Korean SAT subject test. For those of you that do not know, there are SAT subject tests that are avaiable, rather than the normal reasoning test. Basically, these tests measure you in different subjects such as history, math, science and FOREIGN LANGUAGES. Although, the foreign languages are only offered once or twice a year….

They offer test in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, major European languages… and Hebrew. Most of them don’t have listening portions… but I know for a fact that Korean did.

Basically, there are two portions to the Korean test: the listening and multiple choice. The listening was pretty easy – shocking, I know. For the listening portion have to bring a CD player, and backup batteries (just in case).

The multiple choice was really time consuming and was very challenging. It had things like picking the correct form of different verbs, fill in the blank, summarize the passage blah blah blah. Some passages had pictures – which helped to an extent.

I ended up not doing as well as I wanted… but I have been self-studying for less than a year so….. (they reccomend that you have two years experience). I haven’t even really studied… just watched dramas and read a few textbooks haha
